  • Alaskan Amber is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe used by a gold rush era brewery, this beer was originally fermented in mine tunnels to maintain the cold, constant temperature needed for "Alt" beers. Alaskan Amber is a German style of ale known as "Alt". Alt means "old", referring to its cooler, slower fermentation (ales typically ferment faster at warmer temperatures). Alt fermentation yields a remarkably smooth and well blended beer. Alaskan Amber is a richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well-balanced. Serve Alaskan Amber with King or Silver salmon, flavorful meats or just about any entree. Good beer for first time micro drinkers and seasoned beer connoisseurs.
