Alaskan ESB is originally a popular Alaskan Seasonal, Alaskan ESB became a year-round product in 1996 under the name Alaskan Frontier. The name was changed to Alaskan ESB in 2000 to better reflect the hoppy flavor profile. This beer has won six medals in the American Amber Ale category at the Great Amberican Beer Festival. Alaskan ESB is an American Ale. Alaskan ESB is darker and much hoppier than the Amber. It has an exquisite ruby, copper color derived from Crystal malt. Alaskan ESB has an aggressive hop character and aroma, balanced with a rich, malty body. Alaskan ESB is malty with roasted overtones, Alaskan ESB has a crisp finish and floral aroma resulting from premium Northwest hops. Alaskan ESB complements spicy Thai food or robust soups, stews and other winter fare. Perfect with moose, ptarmigan or venison.
