  • Alaskan Pale became the brewery's second year-round product in 1988. The image is based on an image of the Riggs Glacier in Glacier Bay. The Riggs Glacier has receded and now no longer reaches the tidewater, though kayakers can still paddle by in the area. Alaskan Pale is a golden Ale, lighter bodied beer with a crisp hoppy finish. Fruity esters may be perceived but do not dominate. The hop aroma of Alaskan Pale is prevalent due to being dry hopped by hand with over one pound of hops per barrel during the fermentation process. Alaskan Pale has a clean, softly malted body with a hint of citrus overtones, followed by a hop-accented dry, crisp finish. Alaskan Pale complements light flavors such as prawns, crab and fish. Also is a good accompaniment to spicy ethnic food as a palate cleanser. Particularly enjoyable on a warm summer day all by itself!
