  • Cole's Porter was named to celebrate the birth of Brewer Skip Virgilio’s first child, Cole Steven Virgilio. Cole was born on September 12, 1997 and the bittersweet chocolate porter which bears his name is released every winter. There is nothing like a rich, dark ale at the fireside to warm the toes and spirit. Cole's Porter is deep brown, almost black until held to the light when it becomes deep ruby. Dense tan head leaves foamy lacework on glass. Rich chocolate and malt flavors to start. Finishes dry with some bite from a liberal dose of hops. The hops blend well with malt flavors and make their presence clear in the slightly bitter finish. Bittersweet chocolate and slight roasted coffee are the main contributors to the aroma. Malt and subtle fruit aromas from hops and yeast fermentation play in the background. Cole's Porter is smooth, medium-bodied, almost creamy.
