  • Dos Equis Lager was introduced in 1984 and is now available in 43 countries. The orign of Dos Equis actually dates from more than 100 years. In 1884, brewer Wilhelm Haase emigrated from his native Germany to Mexico. Looking to bring his craft to the America´s, he established the Moctezuma Brewing Company, and melded the traditions of his homeland with the ones of his new country. Just prior to 1900, Haase first formulated the amber-colored brew we know today. He named it Dos Equis, signifying the coming millennium, a beer for the next century. Dos Equis Lager Special is launched as an extension of Dos Equis for the export market in 1983.
