  • The Brauerei Aldersbach brewery can look back on a long tradition: mention was made of it for the first time in 1268 in an arbitration ruling of Count Albert von Hals addressed to the monastery´s monks. At that time it was still just a small brewery, brewing beer for private consumption in the main.
In the 16th century the brewery´s beer became ever more popular throughout Bavaria. The monks therefore enlarged the brewery and began to cultivate their own hops.
The dissolution of the monasteries in 1803 affected Aldersbach too. The brewery and the monastery were sold. Baron Aretin´s family bought the property in 1811 and steadily contributed to the brewery´s economic success.
The brewery was comprehensively modernised around 1900. This included the installation of the first mechanical cooling plant in the whole of Lower Bavaria. In 1907 the brewery adapted to the demands of the day and started bottling beer. Pale ale was first brewed in 1928.
Today the Brauerei Aldersbach brewery is constantly adding to the products on offer and modernisation of the brewery (e.g. the new brew-house) have contributed to making Aldersbach brewery a successful medium-sized enterprise.
