  • Avery Brewing Co. was established in the fall of 1993 by the father/son team of Larry and Adam Avery along with Steve Wagner, a family friend. The brewery has grown from an initial capacity of 1,000 barrels per year to its current capacity of 4,000 barrels per year. The family team expanded in 1995 when daughter/sister, Angie, fresh from Ole Miss, became the sales and marketing director. Her efforts were pivotal in the expansion of Avery from 1,500 bbl/yr. to 3,000 bbl/yr. In June of 2001, Angie returned to Ole Miss to pursue a career at the School of Pharmacy Foundation.
    The sales/marketing position was filled by a new partner, Tom Boogaard. Tom joined the Avery team in June of 2000 following a stint at Tremont Brewery in Boston.
    Day-to-day operation of the brewery is in the very capable hands of Steve Breezley. Steve came aboard in Dec. 2001, after brewing award winning beers at Snake River Brewing in Jackson, WY. Steve is assisted by Steve Wadzinski, formerly with Oasis Brewing in Boulder, CO, Greg Miller, formerly with Real Ale Brewing in Austin, TX, and Andy Parker, who comes all the way from Kona Brewing in Kona, Hawaii.
